Keswick is a pretty market town and offers a wide range of attractions for visitors, from shops and restaurants, guest houses to museums. Keswick also offers everything that a person who loves the great outdoors could want - from fabulous fell walking and rock climbing to the serenity of the valley and Derwentwater lake.
Easedale House is one of only a few establishments which was purpose built as a hotel, when originally constructed in Victorian times [circa 1866] as the 'Blencathra Temperance Hotel'. In the 1950's the then proprietors, Arthur and May Ibbotson, changed the name to "The Easedale Hotel" after the small lake 'Easedale Tarn' above Grasmere, where May lived as a child. The name has been changed to Easedale Hse to better reflect its current use.
